Our Story
The story begins in the early 1990s in Minas Gerais, Brazil, with our founder, José Carlos da Silva. Raised in a family with profound values of responsibility and determination, José Carlos worked tirelessly to build a better future for his family and community.
He established the original business under the name Satec—derived from the Portuguese phrase Serviço de Assistência Técnica (Technical Assistance Service). Operating in the rapidly growing industrial area of the Vale do Paraíba region, including São José dos Campos, José Carlos forged the company’s strong industrial and technical foundation.

Immigration and the American Dream
In 1999, while looking for new opportunities, José Carlos immigrated to the United States, with his family joining him six months later.
Starting over in a new country, he adapted to a new language, a new culture, and an entirely different American electrical industry. José Carlos spent years in the field working for electrical contracting companies throughout New Jersey.
He mastered American electrical practices from the ground up, laying the brick-by-brick foundation for what Satec would eventually become in the United States throughout years of cooperation, hard work, and determination.

Establishing Satec Electrical Group in the USA
Satec Electrical Group USA was built on the collaborative bond between father and son. José Carlos worked side-by-side with his son, Raphael Silva, passing down his decades of technical wisdom and work ethic.
A major milestone was achieved in 2008, when Raphael obtained his New Jersey Electrical Contractor License, officially launching Satec Electrical Group USA. As the current President and Founder of the US operations, Raphael has successfully evolved the business from a dedicated family operation into a premier, full-service electrical contracting company.
